A very warm welcome on the I.T. Communications website. Our leading motto is displayed at the top of this page. "Get the MOST from your HOST". Our value proposal for you is best summed up as "Driving down the COST of mainframe access".
To achieve this goal we use communications software from Gallagher & Robertson (G&R), a Norwegian software house which has specialized in mainframe connectivity. Their flagship product Glink has proven to be a reliable and robust "mainframe connectivity engine" for over 10 years now. Other middleware component use core software modules to achieve specialised functions.
If you're new to mainframe connectivity please start at our solutions section to find out what type of solutions are available.

Glink and the Chinese character set At the request of a GCOS7 customer we and Bull working in cooperation added support for the GCOS7 Chinese character set to Glink for the Release 7.3 beta, and it is now in test at the customer site. Glink previously supported Japanese for mainframe systems using the Shift-JIS Japanese character set. The Chinese character set used by GCOS7, like Shift-JIS, is a dual-byte character set, each Chinese character is represented by two bytes in GCOS7 data files, over the line to Glink and internally within Glink.
Ggate performance record Host Links R6.1 includes Ggate Professional Edition, a G&R gateway to Bull GCOS mainframes. Ggate is unique in many ways. It is available for Windows, Linux and UNIX servers and is scalable over a wide range of server configurations. The most interesting of Ggate's capabilities is its unbeatable performance in terms of the number of simultaneous sessions it can support, and the throughput it provides for those sessions. The performance is scalable, limited only by the processor power and available memory of the server.
